Thermocouple

The thermocouple effect theory is comes from a survey of different metals and their electrical and thermal transport properties. Exposed is a measurement junction, formed of different metal, from which a temperature measurement is taken while the cold junction is held at common. The proportional difference between junction temperatures is called seeback voltage. Based on the configuration of the thermocouple, most standard configurations have been adopted specific metals for its particular features together with its application and environment.

RTD

RTD is short for resistance-temperature detector, a temperature transducer that is based on the principle of metal resistance increasing with increasing temperature. RTD sensitivity can be noted with from typical values of the linear fractional change in resistance with temperature. Platinum number is typically 0.0385/°C, so a change of 0.385 would be anticipated for an RTD if the temperatire is changed by 1°C.
